The goal therefore, becomes finding a window covering that will help you increase energy savings while being visually appealing at the same time. Solar Shades offer the kind of balance you're looking for because you can reduce solar heat gain in the summer, help insulate your windows in the winter, enjoy a reasonable degree of daytime privacy and dark fabric colors will help you maintain a view outside.

Solar Shades are available in a wide variety of patterns, colors and openness factors. The Openness Factor (OF) refers to the openness or density of the fabric's weave and combined with the fabric color will determine the level of daytime privacy, the quality of the view out, the level of glare reduction and the level of solar heat reduction that each fabric offers. Dark fabric colors offer the best view out, the greatest glare reduction and depending on the OF may provide a room darkening affect. Light fabric colors offer the greatest solar heat reduction, highest level of daytime privacy and depending on the OF will allow varying degrees of natural light to filter through the material to illuminate the interior.

Available Styles

Eco Green Aurora

The EcoGreen Aurora fabric features a narrow vertical stripe and a more open weave for greater outward visibility or interior illumination depending on the color selected. EcoGreen fabrics are PVC free, lead free, Greenguard certified, fire resistant and fully recyclable.

Eco Green Strata

The EcoGreen Strata fabric features solid colors and a more dense weave for greater solar heat and glare reduction. EcoGreen fabrics are PVC free, lead free, Greenguard certified, fire resistant and fully recyclable.

Sheerweave 2000 Series Solar Shades

Sheerweave 2000 is a light-weight non-directional fabric that is suitable for use in the home or office. The fabric is made from vinyl coated fiberglass yarn that is Greenguard certified, lead free, fire resistant, bacteria resistant, fully recyclable and easy to maintain. Sheerweave 2000 is available in 9 colors ranging in Openness from 3 to 10 percent.

Sheerweave 3000 Series Solar Shades

A combination of vinyl-coated fiberglass and polyester yarns, Style 3000 is an elegant and exquisite shading fabric. Available in 12 colors, Style 3000 is ideal for roller shades, Roman shades and other types of interior sun control applications.

Sheerweave 4000 Series Solar Shades

Sheerweave 4000 is a heavy-duty non-directional fabric that was specifically designed for the commercial market and can be used in restaurants, schools and factories in interior or exterior applications. Made from vinyl coated polyester the fabric is lead free, PVC free, Greenguard safe, fire resistant, bacteria resistant, fully recyclable and easy to keep clean. Available in 9 colors in openness ranging from 3 to 10 percent.

Sheerweave 5000 Series Solar Shades

Style 5000 fabrics are woven from vinyl-coated polyester yarns or from vinyl-coated polyester blends with acrylic or olefin yarns. The collection of 8 different nature-inspired designs is woven with diverse textures and rich colors and maintains unmatched durability, minimal maintenance and excellent outward visibility.

Optional Upgrades

Our vendors offer a variety of optional upgrades to help transform a simple rather uncomplicated window covering into something with enhanced function and aesthetic appeal. Different upgrades require different mounting depths. Please review the information below the "Specs" tab to make sure you meet the minimum mounting requirements for both inside and outside mounts.

Spring Roller - No Charge
The standard spring control relies on the tried-and-true reliability of the classic Spring Roller shade. Completely cordless, you simply grasp the shade by its bottom hem and pull it down to whatever length you want. A gentle tug releases the spring's lock and allows the shade to be gently raised.

Continuous Cord Loop Lift System - No Charge
The cord loop is available as a stainless steel beaded chain or a nylon beaded cord. The factory will color coordinate the cord loop color to the fabric unless an external hem bar and/or fascia are ordered, in which case the cord loop will color coordinate with the fascia color.

Cassette System + Surcharge based on width
Made of extruded aluminum (3-3/4" height by 4" depth) and featuring a curved face with a fabric insert. Hardware and external hem bar (if ordered) matches cassette color. The shade is raised and lowered by a beaded cord (above) and features an integrated reverse roll stop.

Decorative Fascia + Surcharge based on width
Extruded aluminum panel that hides the clutch and the tube available with surcharge. 3" or 4" fascia is used based on size of shade. Hardware and external hem bar (if ordered) will match the fascia color unless otherwise specified. Fascia brackets include end caps.

Fabric Wrapped Fascia + Surcharge based on width
Fabric can be applied to the fascia to provide a matching, finished look. Fabric is attached with a solid piece of double sided tape to front and bottom side of fascia. The factory will color coordinate the hardware and cord loop to the fabric unless you order an external hem bar, in which case the hardware and cord loop will be coordinated to the hem bar.
